Mr. Russ Girling has been the Chairman of the company since 2024. Prior to this, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of TransCanada Pipelines Limited and TC Energy Corporation. Mr. Girling also served as the Chief Financial Officer of TC Energy.

Mr. Rich Kruger has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Suncor Energy since April 2023. Prior to joining in the company, he served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Imperial Oil Limited since 2013. Prior to this, he served for ExxonMobil Corporation and its predecessor companies in various upstream and downstream projects since 1981. Prior to this, he served as Vice President of ExxonMobil Corporation and president of ExxonMobil Production Company in global oil and gas production operations.

Mr. Kris Smith has been the interim president and Interim Chief Executive Officer of the company since July 2022. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President of Downstream. Prior to that Mr. Smith served as Senior Vice-President of Supply, Trading and Corporate Development of Suncor.

Ms. Karen Keegans has been the Chief Human Resources Officer of the company since 2023. Prior to this, she served as a Vice President, Executive Partner and Chief Human Resources Officer at Gartner. Previously she served at Rockwell Automation, Pentair and Praxair, Monsanto.

Mr. Bruno Francoeur has been the Chief Transformation Officer and Executive Vice President of Business & Operations Services of the company since 2021. He most recently served as Regional Operations Executive and led company’s upstream operations across northern Alberta. He has more than 30 years of industry experience, including over 10 years at Union Carbide.He joined legacy Petro-Canada and spent a number of years in various roles at the Montreal refinery and with the strategy team in Toronto before leading the refinery as Vice President for six years.
