Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp (THSRC) is a provider of high-speed railway service for passenger transportation. It builds and operates high-speed railway system projects. THSRC railway line network covers 350 kilometers and connects major cities in western Taiwan between Taipei and Kaohsiung. THSRC through its network serves Taiwan's 12 biggest cities and 11 counties. Currently, it operates through Taipei, Banqiao, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Chiayi, Tainan, Zuoying, Nangang, Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin Stations to strengthen the existing network along the western corridor in Taiwan. The company also provides commercial outlets, supplies good and services, which includes food, beverages, newspapers, souvenirs, trolley sales, car rental and travel agency services, and car parking facilities. THSRC offers commercial spaces for advertisement in both stations and trains.

THSRC conducts its own research and development activities, to provide customers with the latest technologies and innovations, and remain competitive in the market. It has been conducting many innovative projects and research activities in order to be self-capable in creating technologies that they depend on foreign entities to survive. The company’s R&D projects include Intelligent Passenger Information System, Digitalization of TETRA Main Radio System (MSO) and Upgraded Network IP Functions, Data Transmission and Fiber Optic Cable System Expansion Project, Improvement, innovation, and R&D of PLC switch controls, Digital THSRC Cloud Service Platform and New Generation Network Design and Implementation Project. In FY2022, it developed R&D activities such as Artificial Intelligence Drones for inspection, CCTV facility, IT advancement, Signaling and Communication Systems and its own ticket booking mobile application T Express app. The company allocated a budget of TWD541.0 million for R&D.
