Toho Gas Co Ltd (Toho Gas) is primarily engaged in the manufacture and sale of gas, the sale of gas appliances, the transportation and supply of gas, and piping construction for gas supply. It also manufactures and sells gas equipment, kitchen equipment, and household electrical equipment. Toho Gas operates through four reportable business segments, namely, Gas Sales; Gas Appliance Sales and Related Construction; LPG, Electricity and Other Energies; and Other.

Toho Gas intends to focus on the development and utilization of carbon-neutral and digital technologies that contribute to the creation of diverse value. The company is engaged in research and development aimed at highly efficient and advanced use of natural gas, ensuring stable supply and safety. The company is developing CO2 separation and capture technology, methanation technology, unused energy utilization technology, city gas and hydrogen mixed combustion technology, and hydrogen combustion burners. It is also working on the construction of the Midorihama Hydrogen Plant, hydrogen stations, and virtual power plants using storage batteries. In the residential field, it works towards improving the functionality and reducing the cost of ENE-FARM, developing IoT for gas appliances, and conducting research on cooking and bathing. In the commercial field, the company is currently developing new models of gas engine heat pumps and improving the performance of commercial kitchen appliances. In FY2025, the company incurred a research and development expense of JPY1,355 million which was 0.2% of the company's total revenue and decreased 16.8% YoY.
