It focuses upon product reliability along with achieving lower cost of energy. The company uses cutting edge predictive and preventive maintenance techniques to identify potential problems before they occur to reduce downtime and optimize yield. Vestas utilizes virtual simulation based on data to determine how its products and designs perform in different weather conditions. It also inculcates Six Sigma performance targets, analyse each stage of the production process and Critical to Quality (CTQ) charts. The company has R&D facilities in Denmark, Portugal, and India. In FY2023, it spent EUR371 million on R&D, which as a percentage of revenue, stood at 2.4% and decreased 18.8% YoY.
