Unlocking corporate resilience: Join GlobalData webinar on net zero strategies

As the landscape of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations continues to evolve, businesses worldwide are confronting the imperative of decarbonization. The looming specter of climate change has catalyzed a seismic shift across industries, compelling corporations to recalibrate their operations towards “net zero” emissions. As regulatory, investor, and consumer pressures intensify, the pursuit of sustainability emerges as not just an ethical obligation but a strategic necessity for enduring corporate relevance and resilience, says GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

Against this backdrop, GlobalData’s Thematic Intelligence team invites you to attend its “Who is ready for Net Zero?” webinar on Thursday, 18 April at 4pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), 2pm Singapore Time (SGT), 7am British Summer Time (BST).

During this webinar, our panel of experts Christopher Papadopoullos, Principal Analyst, and Pinky Hiranandani, Associate Project Manager in the Thematic Intelligence team at GlobalData, will delve into the landscape of corporate net zero strategies.

Papadopoullos comments: “It is clear from GlobalData’s research on corporate Net Zero strategies that emissions reduction will be a key driver of industry transformation over the next decade. Nearly every major corporation in every sector has a net zero strategy and is acting on it.

“This means changing the way products are made, used, and sourced, and investing in new technologies, some of which look more promising than others. Many companies now have stringent environmental requirements for suppliers and clients, asking them to disclose emissions data and set emissions targets. Net zero is being treated as a whole value chain issue.

“Corporates across developing APAC economies like China and India are going to have a dilemma. Is it best to go along with your country’s net zero target year, which may be 2060 or 2070, and adopt that at the corporate level? Or do I need to target 2050, because otherwise I may be hit by carbon taxes and find it more difficult to trade internationally as other companies try to reduce supply chain emissions. Many of the world’s largest corporates are aiming for net zero supply chain emissions by 2050 and will want their suppliers to follow suit.”
