DS Smith and Jonsac partner to drive sustainable e-commerce packaging
Collaboration aims to accelerate the shift away from plastic packaging and towards sustainable alternatives within the European e-commerce market.
Leading packaging solutions provider DS Smith has announced a new partnership with Jonsac, a Swedish manufacturer of sustainable e-commerce bags.
This collaboration aims to accelerate the shift away from plastic packaging and towards sustainable paper alternatives within the European e-commerce market.
The agreement expands upon an existing relationship between the two companies, where Jonsac supplied paper bag solutions to DS Smith customers in the Nordic region.
Now, this partnership will make Jonsac's 100% recyclable, FSC-certified paper bags available across all DS Smith markets in Europe.
This move caters to the growing demand for sustainable e-commerce packaging solutions.
DS Smith and Jonsac said they will work together to develop a diverse product range that not only meets current customer needs but also anticipates future trends and market requirements.
Customers will benefit from the ability to order these paper bags in high volumes to support their e-commerce activities.
“We are thrilled to be building on our existing relationship with Jonsac. Jonsac is a trusted supplier and the team there share our common plastic reduction goals,” said Marc Chiron, Sales, Marketing, and Innovation Director at DS Smith.
“We have proven that we can work together in the Nordics, and we are looking forward to extending this offering across Europe.”
Torbjörn Rodhe, CEO of Jonsac, echoed this sentiment: “We are delighted to be collaborating with DS Smith for the benefit of the current and the next generation of e-commerce customers. They work with a wide range of customers across all sectors, and this collaboration is ideal for our product solutions and offering.”
This partnership aligns with DS Smith's company-wide purpose of “Redefining Packaging for a Changing World” and its “Now & Next” sustainability strategy, which emphasises achieving dedicated sustainability targets and promoting a circular economy within the packaging industry.
