Mr. Nigel Higgins has been the Chairman of Barclays since May 2019. He also serves as the Chairman at Barclays Bank PLC and Sadler’s Wells and Director at Tetra Laval Group. Prior to this, Mr. Higgins served in multiple positions at Rothschild & Co, which included Deputy Chairman, Chairman of the Group Executive Committee and Managing Partner.

Mr. C.S. Venkatakrishnan has been the Group Chief Executive and Director of the company since 2021. Previously, he served as the Head of Global Markets and Co-President of Barclays Bank PLC from 2020 to 2021 and Group Chief Risk Officer from 2016 to 2020. Prior to joining Barclays in 2016, Mr. Venkat worked at JPMorgan Chase and held senior roles in Asset Management as Chief Investment Officer in Global Fixed Income, Investment Banking, and Risk.

Mr. Taalib Shaah has been the Group Chief Risk Officer of Barclays since October 2020. Previously he served as the Chief Risk Officer at the company's Investment Bank and in 2017 assumed the role of Chief Risk Officer for Barclays International (BBPLC). Prior to joining Barclay, he served as the Managing Director at Citi Group.

Mr. Alistair Currie is the Group Chief Operating Officer of the company. He also serves as the Chief Executive of Barclays Execution Services (BX). He joined the company in August 2017 as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Product for Corporate Banking. In October 2017, he became Co-Head of Corporate Banking and was appointed Head of Corporate Banking in September 2018. Mr. Currie was appointed Global Head of Consumer Banking and Payments in November 2021.

Mr. Tristram Roberts has been the Group Human Resources Director of the company since December 2015. Prior to this, he was the Head of Human Resources for Global Functions and Operations and Technology and Group Head of Performance and Reward at HSBC. Previously, Mr. Roberts served as the Director of Group Reward and Policy at Vodafone Group Plc.
