BlueScope Steel Ltd: Executives

Mr. John Bevan has been the Chairman of the company since 2019. Prior to this, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Alumina Ltd from 2008 to 2014. Prior to joining Alumina Limited in 2008 Mr. Bevan spent 29 years in a variety of senior management roles with BOC Group, including a Director, Chief Executive of Process Gas Solutions, Chief Executive for Asia business, and country lead roles in the UK, Korea, and Thailand. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of Ansell Ltd and Deputy Chairman of the Humpty Dumpty Foundation. He also serves as a Director of Alumina Ltd.

Mr. Mark Vassella has been the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the company since 2018. Prior to this, he served as Chief Executive of the company’s Australia and New Zealand operations in 2011. Earlier, he served as the President of the company’s Steel North America business in 2008. He also served as the Chief Executive of the company’s Australian Distribution and Solutions business.

Ms. Tania Archibald has been the Chief Financial Officer of the company since 2018. Prior to this, she worked as Vice President of Corporate Finance and Strategy at the company. Earlier, she served as the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at the company. Ms. Archibald joined the company in 1996.

Ms. Debra Counsell has been the Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of the company since 2017. Prior to this, she served as the General Counsel for Corporate at the company. Ms. Counsell joined the company in 2014.

Mr. Andrew Garey has been the Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer of the company since 2018. Prior to this, he worked as General Manager Business Improvement in Australian Steel Products. He also worked as General Manager of New Zealand Steel and Pacific Islands business. Mr. Garey joined the company in 2008 as General Manager of Strategic Marketing.
