Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) is a government-owned company that is involved in shipbuilding and ship repair. It has shipbuilding capacity up to 1,10,000DWT and repair ships up to 1,25,000DWT. The company has actively engaged in Research and Development (R&D) initiatives, particularly under the Research and Development (R&D) Shipping Scheme, receiving substantial funding from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
