Business Description
Entergy Corporation (Entergy) is an integrated energy utility, which produces, transmits, and distributes electricity. It also distributes natural gas. The company serves customers in Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Texas; and supplies natural gas to customers in Baton Rouge and New Orleans in Louisiana. Entergy operates its business through two segments: Utility and Entergy Wholesale Commodities. As of January 2023, the company has divested its Entergy Wholesale Commodities segment. From January 2023 onwards the company operates through single reportable segment: Utility. The company invests in various capital projects to increase its service reliability, equipment, or system performance, and increase the number of customers. It plans to invest US$3.9 million, US$5.5 million, and US$6.5 million in 2023,2024 and 2025 respectively. It had 63 subsidiaries at the end of 2022.

Overview
Owns, operates and decommissions nuclear power plants. Sells energy and capacity to retail power providers, utilities, power trading organizations, electric power co-operatives and other power generation companies on wholesale basis. Has ownership interests in non-nuclear power plants that sell electric power produced by those plants to wholesale customers. Non-operating nuclear facilities: Independence Unit 2, RS Cogen and Nelson 6. Also provides operations and management services, including decommissioning-related services to nuclear power plants owned by non-affiliated entities. Views managing the risk of its operating portfolio because of its exit from the merchant power business as a major strategy for this segment.
