Dr. John A. Scarlett has been the Chairman of the company since 2018, the Chief Executive Officer and a Director since 2012, and the President since January 2012. He serves as a Director for Chiasma, Inc., and CytomX Therapeutics, Inc., since February 2015 and June 2016 respectively. Before joining Geron, he served as the Chief Executive Officer, the President and the member of the board of directors for Proteolix, Inc., from February 2009 to November 2009. From February 2002 to October 2008, Dr. Scarlett served at Tercica, Inc., as a member of the board of directors and as the Chief Executive Officer, and also as the President from February 2002 to February 2007. He was the Chief Executive Officer and the President of Sensus Drug Development Corporation from March 1993 to May 2001. He co-founded Covance Biotechnology Services, Inc., in 1995 and served as the member of its board of directors till 2000. Prior to this, Dr. Scarlett served at Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he led the North American Clinical Development Center and served as the Senior Vice President of Medical and Scientific Affairs from 1991 to 1993.

Ms. Michelle Robertson has been the Executive Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of the company since September 2023. Prior to this, she served as a Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Editas Medicine and Chief Financial Officer of Momenta Pharmaceuticals; Vice President, Oncology Finance for Baxalta Inc, Head of Financial Planning and Analysis and Operations Excellence at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals Inc.

Dr. Andrew J. Grethlein has been the Chief Operating Officer and the Executive Vice President of the company since January 2019. From July 2014 to January 2019, he served the company as the Executive Vice President, Development and Technical Operations. He also served as the Executive Vice President, Technical Operations since September 2012. Before joining Geron, he served at Inspiration Biopharmaceuticals as its Chief Operating Officer and the Executive Vice President from January 2010 to September 2012. Before joining Inspiration Biopharmaceuticals, he served at Ipsen S.A. as the Senior Vice President of Biotechnology and the Portfolio Management Team Leader of Hematology. From 2003 to 2008, he served at Tercica, Inc., as the Senior Vice President of Pharmaceutical Operations. From 1997 to 2003, Dr. Grethlein held several roles at Elan Corporation, including as the Senior Director of South San Francisco Pharmaceutical Operations. He also served as the Manager, Biologics Development and Manufacturing at Athena Neurosciences, Inc from 1995 to 1997. Prior to this, he served in several roles for the Michigan Biotechnology Institute.

Mr. Stephen N. Rosenfield has been the Chief Legal Officer, Executive Vice President and the Corporate Secretary of the company since January 2019. Previously, he served as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary and the Executive Vice President of the company from February 2012 to January 2019, Secretary and General Counsel since January 2012 and as the Secretary since October 2011. He also served at Tercica, Inc., in many positions including as the General Counsel and Secretary from June 2004 to June 2009. Before joining Tercica, he served as the General Counsel and Secretary, Executive Vice President of Legal Affairs pf InterMune, Inc. Prior to this, he was an attorney at Cooley LLP.

Dr. Faye Feller has been the Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer since July 2022. Previously, she served as Senior Director at Janssen Research and Development, LLC. Previously, Dr. Feller served as an attending physician in the leukemia department of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
