Mr. Matthias Zachert has been the Chief Executive Officer of the company since April 2014. Prior to this, he served as Chief Financial officer and Director at Merck KGaA from 2011 to 2014. He also worked as Chief Financial Officer of the company from 2004 to 2011; Chief Financial Officer for Kamps AG in 2002 and Chief Financial Officer for Aventis Pharma AG from 1999 to 2002.

Mr. Michael Pontzen has been the Chief Financial Officer of Lanxess since April 2015. Prior to this, he served as Head of the Corporate Controlling group function since January 2012. He also worked as Head of Corporate Finance within the Treasury function in 2008 and Head of the Investor Relations in 2004. Prior to joining the company, he worked as Team Leader in Investor Relations for EADS (now Airbus) in 2001 and Manager in Investor Relations for MAN AG in 1999.

Dr. Matthias L. Wolfgruber has been the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the company since 2018. Prior to this, he was member of the Supervisory Board, since 2015 to 2018. Mr. Wolfgruber also served as Chief Executive Officer of ALTANA AG, since 2007 to 2015. He joined management board of ALTANA AG in 2002. Prior to that, he served at various senior positions at Wacker Silicones Corp. He started his career at Wacker-Chemie GmbH in 1985.
