Oglethorpe Power Corp (OPC) is a not-for-profit member-owned electric generating company. It generates electricity using natural gas, hydroelectric, coal, and nuclear sources and procures power from third parties. The company manages and operates Smarr EMC and associates with Green Power EMC to secure renewable energy resources such as hydro, biomass, landfill gas, and solar. In long-term power purchase agreements, OPC supplies electricity to its retail electric distribution cooperative members in Georgia, on a wholesale basis. The company also sells capacity and energy to non-members. The company owns and has interests in natural gas-fired simple cycle combustion and combined cycle turbines, bituminous coal, sub-bituminous coal, and nuclear and pumped storage hydroelectric plants across the state. OPC is headquartered in Tucker, Georgia, the US.
