R&D Overview
Paratek is actively engaged in research and development initiatives to combat Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) through the development of novel antibiotics. The company is focused on the further study of NUZYRA (omadacycline) for additional areas of unmet medical need and is involved in a broad-based Project BioShield contract with the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) to study NUZYRA against anthrax. Additionally, Paratek has entered into a collaboration with Zai Lab (Shanghai) Co Ltd to support the development and commercialization of omadacycline in Greater China. The company is also involved in the development of SEYSARA (sarecycline) for the treatment of acne vulgaris, which is marketed by Almirall, LLC in the US.
